YouTube video service has announced the launch of a new feature “Sections”, which will delight fans of long videos.

The new “Sections” feature allows you to divide a long video into chapters. To create a division into chapters, the author of the video must specify timestamps in the description of the video. As a result, noticeable sections appear directly on the player slider. When dividing into chapters, you must create at least three sections lasting at least 10 seconds.

Previously, some authors of the video themselves prescribed the “content” in the description, but with the new feature, it has become much more convenient for viewers. Back in April, testing of the feature began among a small number of users, and now the feature has become available to everyone.
