The well-known messenger WhatsApp with the purpose of stopping spam and misinformation added a special note that the message was forwarded, and also limited the number of dialogs to which messages can be forwarded.

Earlier the message could be sent to an unlimited number of chats, but now, this number is limited to 20 chats, and in India – to five.

“We believe that these changes (over which we will continue to work) will help save the WhatsApp application as it was created – an application for private messages,” the company noted.

This update is a reaction to a series of bloody events in India, namely: one person was killed and two were severely beaten for allegedly abducting children. Rumors spread through WhatsApp. Special services suggest that 17 people were killed in the last year under similar circumstances.
