Tiny robotic-assistants can give phone

At the conference UIST 2016 Tokyo international team of scientists unveiled a whole new class of user interface in which a flock of tiny autonomous robots plays a central role. Open platform, called Zooids, not only displays information, but interacts with humans.
The platform consists of a set of specially designed microrobots on wheels, each is 2.6 centimeters in diameter, base stations, high-speed DLP-projector for optical testing and programming framework for developing and managing application.

Like a living organism, a swarm of small robots can take many provisions reflecting any information and move things like little ants. “Zooids” acting in concert, receiving instructions from a computer that monitors the movements of the swarm.

As shown in the video work can give the phone or remove the crumbs on the kitchen table. Turn the “Zooids” and the user can decrease the volume or use it as a control in the game.
