TIME JOURNAL CALLS THE HUMAN OF THE YEAR
Sixteen-year-old Swedish eco-activist Greta Thunberg became the “Human of the Year” according to Time magazine.
The Swedish activist became famous after her speech at the UN General Assembly in September, when she accused the world leaders of inaction and unwillingness to tackle the climate change problem.
A year ago, the activist stopped attending school on Fridays, and instead went out with single pickets to the Swedish Parliament building, demanding a reduction in the country’s greenhouse gas emissions.
Its “school climate strike” has become a grassroots movement for students and students across the globe.
