THE LONGEST STREAM IN THE HISTORY OF THE INTERNET WILL BE CLOSED

In San Francisco will shut down the longest stream in the history of the Internet called FogCam.

The webcam for 25 years has aired a view from the campus of the University of San Francisco. The streams were launched by Jeff Schwartz and Dan Wong in 1994, when they studied computer science at the University of San Francisco. The idea to launch the webcast came to Schwartz when he was learning writing scripts. He was inspired by the Trojan Room Coffee Pot, the world’s first webcam.

The broadcast will be shut down on August 30. After closing FogCam, FishCam, the webcam in front of the aquarium, will be the oldest operating stream. This stream was launched in the same 1994.
