In the new version of Telegram appeared animated stickers.

“We started stickers as early as January 2015. Today we introduce a new format – animated stickers. We asked ourselves: Can animated stickers be better quality than static, and at the same time consume less traffic? The answer turned out to be positive”, – Telegram reported.

Each animated sticker weighs about 20 – 30 kilobytes – six times less than the average photo. According to developers, such stickers consume less battery power than GIF animations.

Several standard animated sticker sets are now available. Users, as in the case of regular stickers, can also create new sets themselves.
