SCIENTISTS HAVE RECORDED THE MOST POWERFUL EXPLOSION IN THE UNIVERSE
Scientists at the International Center for Radio Astronomical Research have recorded the most powerful explosion in the universe since the Big Bang.
The blast occurred in a supermassive black hole in the snakebird’s superstructure, located 390 million light-years from Earth. The explosion happened rather slowly, lasting for hundreds of millions of years.
“We’ve seen flashes in galaxy centers before, but it’s really, really massive. And we don’t know why he’s so big,” – said Professor Melanie Johnston-Hallit.
The explosion resulted in an energy release that is five times higher than the previous record. At the moment, the scientists have not identified the cause of the explosion and have already planned further observations.
