SCIENTIST HAVE CREATED A SOFT SPIDER-ROBOT
American scientists from Harvard University have created a completely soft robot that looks like a spider-peacock.
The robot with a length of only 3 centimeters consists of 12 layers of elastic silicone, which are shaped and firmly glued together. Through the whole body, the system runs through the microfluidic channels, some of which work as air pumps, and some are filled with colored fluids, which provide color changes like a real spider-peacock.
According to scientists, the technology behind the creation of a spider-peacock can be used in other devices as well. For example, in soft medical endoscopes and various instruments for microsurgery. With such subjects, surgical intervention will be less traumatic for patients.
