Samsung Electronics together with the Japanese telecommunications company KDDI have successfully tested fifth-generation networks in a 100km / h speed train. The tests were conducted in October in the Japanese city of Saitama, located near Tokyo. During the experiment, train passengers downloaded 8K video, and then removed, mounted and unloaded the roller in the network in the 4K expansion.
During the testing, Samsung used the previous commercial integrated solution for fifth-generation networks, consisting of a 5G router, a 5G Radio Access Block, virtualized RANs and cores. As a result, both companies were able to reach a peak speed of 1.7 Gb / s.

Since 5G is expected to bring the railways to a whole new level, the success of the demonstration in places such as the train and the train station is a landmark indicating the commercialization of 5G. To complete the task of launching 5G by 2020, KDDI will continue to explore real-world technology use scenarios and will work with Samsung.
