North Korean engineers have created their own smartphone, which does not have access to foreign internet, but it has by default downloaded the state encyclopedia.

The smartphone called “Pyongyang 2425” blocks foreign media, and the program can not be installed on its own. The phone is equipped with an octagonal processor, has facial recognition technology and can be charged wirelessly. However, it is not able to connect to a foreign WiFi.

Smartphones are allowed to install programs for studying Chinese and English languages, an official government-approved encyclopedia and weather program. Also installed a library program that provides access to state-authorized material for reading.
