JAPANESE FLYING TAXI WAS TESTED
Japanese company SkyDrive Inc. conducted a successful test flight of a “flying taxi” with one person on board.
The device, resembling a motorcycle with propellers, rose a few feet (1-2 meters) above the ground and hung in a protected place for four minutes. Tomohiro Fukudzawa, who heads the SkyDrive project, expressed hope that by 2023, the “flying car” can be turned into a real product.
So far, the car can only fly from 5 to 10 minutes, but if you increase the flight time by 30 minutes, it will have more opportunities. Unlike airplanes and helicopters, eVTOL or “electric vertical takeoff and landing device” offers fast private travel from point to point.
They can help get rid of traffic jams as well as the cost of hiring pilots.
