Google Maps will notify drivers and people using public transportation about country restrictions.
Before entering such countries, the app will display information about changes await tourists in the region. The company will also warn about the protection requirements in force in the country – in particular for masks and gloves.
“It can be more difficult to get from point A to point B through quarantine. It is important for tourists to know how crowded the train station is at a certain time or whether buses run on a special schedule,” Google said.
Information about the restrictions will be only in those regions that have provided the necessary information to the service. The feature will initially appear in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Later – in Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, France, India, the Netherlands, Spain, Thailand, and the United Kingdom.
