USA scientific and medical institutions have begun research on a new medicine from coronavirus COVID-19 in patients with confirmed infection.

The University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha has launched a randomized controlled clinical trial aimed at evaluating the safety and efficacy of the Remdesivir antiviral drug accepted by hospitalized adult patients diagnosed with COVID-19 coronavirus disease.

This is the first clinical trial in the United States to evaluate the experimental treatment of COVID-19. American experts say that the results of this test can be used to evaluate other studies – both in the US and in the world.

The first participant in the test was a USA citizen evacuated from a Diamond Princess cruise ship in the Japanese port of Yokohama. The man himself expressed a desire to participate in the experiment.
