Google patented “smart” glasses with new design
The US Patent and Trademark Office has declassified the next patent application from Google related to the development of portable devices.
The document is about smart glasses with a new design, which is significantly different from the layout of the Google Glass Gadget. The original version of Glass, in essence, was a frame with a special electronic module in the right-eye area. The patent device looks like ordinary sunglasses outwardly.
In the glass of a new electronic assistant, it is proposed to integrate small micro-LED panels. This will allow you to display the necessary information before the user’s eyes. Thus, work in the mode of complemented reality becomes possible.
The required electronic components, including microprocessors, controllers, wireless communication devices and memory chips, can be integrated into brackets and a frame. In addition, the device may be endowed with a camera and various sensors.
Google filed for patent in March last year; The document is currently in the process of being reviewed. It is possible that in the long run the proposed design will find application in a real gadget, but so far about these plans of the search giant nothing is reported.
