The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has issued Google Patent for an interesting development in the field of portable computers.
The document is called “Notebook computer with motorized display positioning” – a laptop with a motorized display positioning system. We are talking about a special mechanism for automatically changing the angle on which the cover is thrown off the screen.

It is reported that information from a sensor set will be used to determine the optimal position of the display. This, for example, may be a proximity sensor and a user’s presence.

The system will automatically adjust the angle of opening of a laptop computer in a wide range – from completely closed to fully open. This will prevent users from turning the lid manually.

The development is designed to increase the comfort of interaction with portable computers. In addition, the system when organizing video through the built-in webcam will permanently keep the user’s face in the field of view of the lens.

Interestingly, the patent application was filed more than four years ago – in October 2013. But the registration of the invention of Google was possible only now. About the terms of practical implementation of the development is not reported.
