In mid-2015, Google has tested drones Titan, which had become a source of internet to remote regions of the planet.

Then it looked very promising, but in early 2016 during testing of aircraft significant problems were found. The company recently decided to close the project.

Titan Aircraft had to work on solar energy and circling remote regions of the planet. At this time they had to delivery  to the internet, film surface and to perform other tasks. For this purpose in 2014 Google acquired Titan Aerospace, which was engaged in the creation of such drones. In mid-2015, Google tested drones Titan, but one of them crashed in Arizona due to a problem with the wing.

In early 2017 Alphabet Holding, which includes X, Google and other companies, closed design Titan. About 50 engineers have participated in it, now they move to other positions in the Alphabet and Google. Holding plans to focus on the project of the distribution of Internet using balloons Loon.
