Google Assistant can read aloud information from web pages and translate text into 42 languages.

To launch the new feature, you must say, “Hello Google, read this page”. While reading, the assistant will indicate what part he is currently voicing. It will also automatically scroll the page if the text on the screen ends.

The assistant can also automatically translate text into 42 languages. Google said the assistant would read in a “clear and natural voice.” Read speed can be adjusted.

The company hopes the new feature will help visually impaired people. The new feature will work on all modern smartphones running Android 5 and above.
