FOR THE FIRST TIME ONLY WOMEN SPACEWALK TOGETHER

For the first time in history, only women astronaut teams have gone out into space.

These were NASA astronauts Christine Koch and Jessica Meir. Koch and Meir left the International Space Station to replace defective equipment on the inside of the station. They replace a faulty battery and battery unit that failed to activate in early October. Then, on the outside of the ISS, new lithium-ion batteries were installed.

It was the fourth space launch for Cock and the first for Meir. Previously, spacewalking, which was the first time that only women had to participate, was planned for March 2019, but then there were not enough space suits right size.
