In recent weeks Messenger finished implementing the through encryption function “secret correspondence” to all users. It allows you to encrypt messages so that no one except the two interlocutors can not read correspondence – neither the Facebook, or law enforcement.

Anyone who update Facebook Messenger app to the latest version, can use the encryption. To do this, create a new chat and in the upper right corner click on the lock icon. The function also allows you to choose between interlocutors missing messages from five seconds to one day.

“Secret correspondence” uses encryption Signal, which was developed by the NGO Open Whisper Systems.
Encryption of messages in the Facebook Messenger is included manually for each correspondence .
