COMPUTER GAME “SOLITAIRE” CELEBRATES ITS 30TH BIRTHDAY
One of Microsoft’s standard computer games, named Solitaire, has celebrated its 30th anniversary.
Despite its “respectable age”, the game is estimated by Microsoft to be played by 35 million people a month. And this is one of the most popular games in the world. The “Solitaire” was created in 1990 as part of the Windows 3.0 operating system to teach users to control the mouse.
The original version of “Solitaire” had a special mode that allowed you to instantly hide the game at work, so you would not suspect that you are playing and not working. However, at the insistence of Microsoft had to remove.
With the release of Windows 8 in 2012, “Solitaire” ceased to be a standard Windows application. But in Windows 10 it was returned. The “Solitaire” has been translated into 65 languages and integrated into Xbox Live (Microsoft’s gaming universe), adding new game modes and design.
