Engineers from the Chinese University of Hong Kong have developed a special portable sensor that can charge the smartphone from walking or running.

The sensor is installed on three points on the leg: on the caviar, knees and shin. A rod, which is attached to the thigh of a person, is attached to the bandage. Another bandage is fixed on the caviar. When you walking, a special slider carries forward movements. Sensor weight is 307 grams.

At a speed of 2 to 6.5 km per hour, the researchers were able to achieve a capacity of 1.6 microns. This is the speed of an ordinary walk. This energy can be accumulated, and then charge portable electronics, such as a smartphone.

Such a development may be an alternative to portable batteries, since for charging a gadget to the user it will be enough to walk a bit.
