BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA COMMITTED TO NOT OCCUPIED THE MOON AND OTHER CELESTIAN BODIES

The Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina has passed a law requiring the country not to exploit the surface of the moon and other celestial bodies.

The law is based on the 1979 Agreement on the Activity of States on the Moon and Other Space Bodies. The treaty forbids countries from expanding their territories at the expense of Earth satellites, asteroids, or other celestial bodies.

Bosnia and Herzegovina has also pledged not to carry out nuclear tests on celestial bodies. The law will allow astronauts sent by the country to use spacecraft and equipment.

Some Bosnian lawmakers admitted after voting that they had not read the law.
