In recent years Apple has presented a great number of differents patents, where displacement of fingerprint scanner to a display was mentioned.

Such inventions suggest that future iPhone models won’t have “Home” button, instead equivalent function will be realized on device’s display. In last iPhone models “Home” became a touch button and is no longer a mechanic one as it was earlier. We will probably see changes in the foreseeable future. At least, a new Apple patent that states about displacement of fingerprint scanner, built in display, hints at it.

According to technology mentioned in a patent, dactyloscopic scanner will be located under a display and will be using capacitive recognition technology, as well as electric lenses, that will allow to make fingerprint reading accuracy through display and protecting glass much higher.

It will “free” Apple from “Home” button and allow to equip a display that will fully cover a front panel of a device.
