Amazon has asked its employees to remove the TikTok social network from smartphones.

The e-mail said that due to the “security threat”, employees should remove the application from all devices on which Amazon work mail is installed. In a statement later, company spokeswoman Christine Brown said: “There are no changes to our policy on TikTok at this time.” She added that the e-mail was sent to some employees by mistake.

Earlier this week, US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo said that Washington was seriously discussing a possible blockade of the TikTok application in the country.
