The Chinese holding Alibaba Group officially introduced its home assistant, which proved to be cheaper than its potential competitors – Google Home, Amazon Echo and Apple Homepod. Bloomberg writes about it.

The Tmall Genie X1 wireless speaker, which includes AliGenie’s voice assistant, will be priced at 499 yuan ($ 73). For comparison, Amazon Echo is priced at $ 180, Google Home is $ 129, and Apple Homepod will be priced at $ 349.

Tmall Genie X1 will be able to launch music, tell the news, talk about upcoming cultural events, and so on. It will also be able to buy goods on the Tmall trading floor, which is used by 450 million people a month.

Device sales will begin on August 8, 2017, while it will only appear in China.
