UKRAINIAN KIBERPOLITIONS REMOWED MEDOC’S SERVER
Cyberpolice of Ukraine has removed the servers of the developer of software for reporting and document circulation MEDOC. This was announced by the head of the department Serhiy Demedyuk.
According to Demedyuk, MEDoc servers were removed as part of an investigation into a hacker attack that took place on June 27. Earlier in the cyberpolice, they said that the company knew about security problems long before the attack, but did nothing. In turn, in MEDOC, they called themselves an injured party.
The information on conducting investigatory actions has also been confirmed in MEDOC on its Facebook page. The company was assured that they were cooperating with the cyberpolice and even discovered the fact that the site was hacked by a third party.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov said that the searches at MEDOC were conducted after the second phase of the attack Petya. It started July 4 at 13:40, but already at 15.00 cyberpolice specialists managed to block activation of the virus on MEDOC servers.
It should be noted that the day after the virus-extortionist Petya infected thousands of computers in Ukraine and the world, the cyber police stated that the attack was due to the vulnerability in the MEDoc program.
