The NPE Team, which develops experimental products within Facebook, has announced the creation of a new CatchUp messenger.

The primary goal of the messenger is to keep in touch with family and friends. According to the developers of CatchUp, one of the reasons why people do not call their relatives is that they do not know when they are free. Therefore, the messenger has a special function that will indicate the status of the interlocutor – he is busy or not.

Another feature of CatchUp is the easy setup of group calls. The app is currently only available in the U.S. for a limited time for iOS and Android and is subject to change.
