On the International Embroidery Day, the Google search engine greeted all Ukrainians with a festive doodle.

Ukrainian artist Tanya Yakunova became the author of the image of the doodle. In Ukraine, Embroidery Day is celebrated annually on the third Thursday in May. This holiday symbolizes the preservation and revival of the Ukrainian folk tradition of wearing embroidered clothes, as well as contributes to the unity of the Ukrainian people.

“While working on this project, I spent most of my time immersing myself in the study of national embroidery and numerous patterns. I used traditional colors and tried to include symbols and styles of patterns from different regions of Ukraine,” – said the artist about the process of creating the doodle.
