A “smartphone passport” has started operating in Ukraine, which has the same legal force as usual.

At the beginning of February in Ukraine presented the program “Diya” with access to digital driver’s licenses and car registration certificates. This happened within the framework of the state-on-smartphone strategy.

“It’s only been two months, and today we are making a significant, revolutionary step – we are presenting a digital passport of a citizen of Ukraine and a foreign passport, which are now available in the Diya app,” said President Vladimir Zelensky during the presentation.

According to him, in the first three days of launching the mobile app “Diya” it was used by 1 million Ukrainians, and now their number has reached 2.3 million.
