VIRTUAL KEYBOARD FOR PEOPLE WITH VISUAL DISORDERS APPEARS ON ANDROID

Google has created a virtual Braille-based keyboard for visually impaired Android smartphones.

On the TalkBack keyboard, different combinations of six dots indicate different characters. Yes, 1 is “A” and 1 and 2 are “B”. The company noted that it is as easy to turn on the keyboard as it is to switch layouts on a regular keyboard.

In addition to typing, editing, and sending texts, TalkBack supports gestures and can hear messages. The virtual keyboard works with all applications, but currently only in English.

The virtual keyboard is available on Android 5.0 and higher.
