COVID-19 CORONAVIRUS ANTIBODIES WAS FOUND IN CATS
Chinese scientists from the Wuhan Institute of Virology said that 15 of the 102 cats studied had detected antibodies to the COVID-19 coronavirus.
102 cats that were taken to shelters or veterinary clinics during the coronavirus epidemic were examined. They took blood samples and smears. There was also a control group of 39 cats treated at clinics in spring 2019. Scientists have evaluated the ability of the body of cats to neutralize the virus.
In 15 cats found a high level of antibodies to coronavirus. In 12 of these antibodies were able to neutralize the virus. Thus, scientists have suggested that about 15% of Welsh cats were infected with a coronavirus. At the same time, there is no confirmation that the coronavirus is transmitted from cats to humans.
