IN USA APPROVES FIRST PEANUTS ALLERGY MEDICINE
The USA Food and Drug Administration has approved the first peanut allergy medicine for children.
The medicine Palforzia is produced as a powder, which is sprinkled with food. It can be used for patients from 4 to 17 years old. During the study, Palforzia was given to children with a small number of nuts for 6 months. Doctors observed the reaction of patients.
Palforzia does not cure peanut allergy. The drug only removes the body’s sensitivity to the allergen. Kids still can’t eat nuts. They should take Palforzia daily to avoid the nuts in case of inadvertently eaten.
