ASTRONOMERS MADE THE MOST DETAILED SUN PHOTO
The US National Science Foundation’s with DKIST Earth Telescope has made the most detailed images of the sun’s surface in history.
Each grain in this image is approximately the size of Ukraine, and the smallest objects in the light are only 30 km. The image shows that the Sun is a fluid-filled plasma ball whose upper layers are constantly “mixed”.
Scientists say that the data obtained are useful for understanding and predicting the activity of the sun, which in combination with the high electrical conductivity of its matter creates a strong magnetic field.
The DKIST telescope is a unique four-meter telescope designed specifically for observations of the sun. Its construction on the summit of the Haleakala Sleeping Volcano in Hawaii began as early as 2013 and ended just a few weeks ago.
