GOOGLE CREATED DODLE TO WINTER SOLSTICE
Google has created a new doodle dedicated to the shortest day of the year – the winter solstice.
The picture shows a drawn Earth looking at the North Pole in astonishment. On one of the main symbols of winter is the snowman.
Winter Solstice Day is characterized by the longest night and at the same time the shortest light day of the year. This time it started on December 22 at 6:19. In Kiev, the sun went down at 7:57 and set at 15:57.
As an astronomical phenomenon, the winter solstice means that the axial inclination of the Earth is farthest from the Sun. Thus, in this transition period, the days in the northern hemisphere become longer and in the southern hemisphere shorter.
