AMERICANS WILL SPEND $ 2.7 BILLION ON HALLOWEEN CANDY
A new research by the National Confectioners Association (NCA) found that Americans will spend $ 2.7 billion on Halloween candy.
Traditionally, sweets are distributed to children who knock on doors and ask for treats. 77% of NCA Americans surveyed give out candy. Chocolate is favored by 68% of survey participants. Second place is the traditional candy corn toffee, which accounts for 10%. The rest, 9%, contain chewing candies, mint candies, caramel, candy canes and licorice candy.
The majority of respondents (85%) prefer small confectionery products. Approximately 90% of parents want to use Halloween to talk to their children about the need for moderation in consuming sweets.
