TWITTER TEMPORARILY MUTED PUBLICATIONS VIA SMS
Twitter temporarily disabled the ability to post tweets from phone via SMS.
The company has taken this step to identify and eliminate weaknesses in the social network, as well as to protect user accounts. The company promised to resume SMS sending soon, but did not say when.
The reason for such actions from Twitter, probably, was hacking the Twitter founder’s account Jack Dorsey. The offenders posted on his page posts with offensive racist and anti-Semitic messages. Hackers took advantage of the vulnerability of the mobile carrier’s security system and, via SMS, posted tweets on Dorsey’s page.
