French President Emmanuel Macron gifts watches of plastic caught in the oceans to leaders of the G7.

During the G7 summit session on climate change, the leaders of the summit’s participating countries, as well as invited states and international organizations, found gifts from the French leader at their places: plastic watches made from materials found in the oceans.

Earlier, at the G20 meeting, participants concluded the first international agreement on the reduction of plastic waste in the oceans. It sets out the general rules for combating plastic pollution for all and spells out the specific measures needed. The country will implement the agreement on a voluntary basis.
