The report of the Spanish Center for Globalization and the Business School Strategy IESE has named the five most intelligent cities in the world.

The analysis was based on nine criterias: human capital (development, involvement and upbringing of talent), social cohesion (consensus among different social groups of the population), economy, environment, management, urban planning, international relations, technology, mobility and transport (ease of movement).

In total, IESE Cities in Motion Index 2019 hit 174 cities from 80 countries. The first five cities were London, New York, Amsterdam, Paris and Reykjavik.

“A truly intelligent city is intended to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants, which means providing economic, social and environmental sustainability,” said Joan Enric Richart, professor at IESE and co-author of the report.
