SHIP ON BATTERIES PLAN TO OVERCOMING OCEAN
The world’s first liner, which partially feeds battery packs, will go on an ecological cruise fron Norway.
The vessel can take on board five hundred passengers. The ship is specially built for survival in harsh climatic conditions. In particular – for a trip to the Arctic Ocean.
The ship will depart from the northern city of Tromso to the Arctic, will go to Alaska, and from there will go south. And in October, according to the plan, sail along the coasts of Antarctica. And while the hybrid ship can only swim for more than an hour on an electric power alone, environmentalists say the new engine will significantly save fuel and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 20 percent.
