Auction Christie’s has put up for sale a picture called “Portrait of Edmond de Belamy”, which was created by artificial intelligence.

The network artist is designed by the French band The Obvious. In the picture “Portrait of Edmond de Belamie” depicted one of the members of the fictional earl’s family de Belamy.

As one of the experts from the famous auction house said, despite the fact that the picture was created by artificial intelligence, this is the piece of art Christie’s has sold for 250 years.

For a new picture, the Obvious team expects to receive about 7-10 thousand euros. This money will go on to further improve the algorithm.
