Engineers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology created robotic mechanisms the size of a human cell.

At the heart of the robots are photodiode semiconductors, which convert light into electric charge. Therefore, these robots don’t require recharging and can work autonomously.

Scientists plan to use robots to research the human body and identify pathologies, as well as to diagnose various technical communications.

“In fact, the principle of using these robots is simple: you leave robot at one end and take it away on the other, then analyze the information collected with detectors and sensors”, – say the inventor engineers.
