MICROSOFT WORD LEARNED TO CONVERT AUDIO TO TEXT

The Microsoft Word word processor has received the function of converting audio to text.

So far, the feature is only available in English in the online version of Word only. The transcription function is available on the panel together with the “Dictate” function. It allows you to download an audio file up to 200 MB in .mp3, .wav, .m4a or .mp4 formats.

After downloading and processing the file, a panel with timecodes and decrypted text appears on the right. The user can correct the decryption if it is inaccurate.

Transcription is available from Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge for the English online version of Microsoft Office and can only encrypt English text. In addition, there is currently a limit on audio encryption of no more than five hours per month.
