HALF OF THE EARTH’S POPULATION USE SOCIAL NETWORKS
The global audience of social networks has surpassed the mark of half the world’s population.
According to a study by Digital 2020 companies We Are Social and Hootsuite in July 2020, the global audience of social networks reached 3.96 billion people, which is 51% of the world’s population. At the same time, the Internet audience in the world grew by 8.2%, and the number of unique smartphone users increased by 2.4%.
Among the inhabitants of the planet over the age of 13, 65% have social media accounts. Every day their audience increases by one million users, which is 12 people per second.
