FACEBOOK FOR FIRST TIME MARKED POST “FAKE”

The Singapore government has obliged the social network Facebook to put a “fake” mark under the post of one of the users of the social network.

According to the authorities, the post contains false information. According to internal rules, the Facebook network notified the user. No changes to the text of the post were made. The Singapore government has been able to reach out to Facebook to correct user posts thanks to a recent anti-fake news law.

At the same time, Facebook expressed its hope that this legislative initiative would not adversely affect freedom of expression and that its implementation would be “balanced and transparent”.
