As part of the annual GITEX exhibition on information technology, the Etisalat telecommunications company from the OAU has demonstrated the potential of fifth-generation networks. The researchers managed to establish a world record for speed wireless data transmission in mobile networks. To achieve this, the experts used the 2 GHz frequency and MIMO array, which allows to increase the bandwidth of the channel.

During the demonstration, Etisalat managed to transfer data at a speed of 71.75 Gbps. Also, the show demonstrated the use of 5G healthcare scenarios, sending 4K video and recognizing individuals. Visitors were also shown the process of transferring super-high-quality video from a 360-degree camera that broadcasts 5G content.

Global launch of fifth-generation networks is expected over the next three years.
